Any way to pursue herpetology after engg??? - herpetology course

Currently I am about my Mech Engg and the need, my teacher in all matters pertaining to fulfill LL Herpetology ...... Help I have no background and bio, but an experience of working with organizations in Wildlife Rescue, research and knowledge ..... but I know ..... snakes and crocodiles can someone pls guide me with all the links as a reference? Also short courses in herpetology, when I finish my master's degree in ecology and the environment can?
